Need to take public transport?
From the city you can catch a train from Flinders Street Station to Belgrave (on the Belgrave line). (Click here to go to the timetable.) Then, from Belgrave station take US Busline Route 694 to Olinda via Sherbrooke and Sassafras. (Click here to go to the timetable.)

Alternatively, you can catch the Lilydale train to Croydon Railway Station from Spencer Street Station then take the 688 MountDandyBus to Olinda via Montrose, Kalorama and Ridge Rd/William Rickett's Sanctuary. (Click here for timetable.)

Please note: Buses do not currently run on Sundays or public holidays.

Mountain Road Map

Arriving by car? There are two main routes from the city / eastern suburbs.
1. Take the South Eastern Freeway (M1) (a toll applies - for more information go to www.citylink.com.au) and exit at Ferntree Gully Rd. Follow it to the end where it intersects with Burwood Hwy and turn right. Turn left after passing through Ferntree Gully to get onto the Mt Dandenong Tourist Rd. Follow this road until you reach Olinda (from the south).
2. Take the Eastern Freeway (no toll applies) to its end and turn right into Springvale Rd. Turn left at Cantebury Rd and follow this road through to Montrose where it intersects with the Mt Dandenong Tourist Rd. Follow the Mt Dandenong Tourist Rd until you reach Olinda (from the north).
